These lovely ladies played an enormous role in the birth of Dear Gladys. While involved with RMIT’s ‘The Works’, they created all Dear Gladys’s branding and collateral! 

Kaela Phillips has completed her Honours year in Communication Design at RMIT, The Works. Fond of rainy days, the smell of old books and people watching, she is currently working as a freelance illustrator and designer.

Fiona Greenwood has also completed her Honours year in Communication Design at RMIT, The Works.

Lillian Cutts

Lillan has volunteered her amazing graphic design skills for many Dear Gladys projects including the design of our hosiery packaging and soap packaging.

Lillian Cutts was born and bred in New Zealand and is now a graphic designer and illustrator based in Melbourne. After a year of Visual Communication at Masey University, she transferred to RMIT and graduated with a Bachelor of Communication Design. She uses a hands on approach in all of her works and enjoys working in many different mediums. Her best friend is a little black sketch book and a fineliner and when she is not desiging, she is thinking about how she should be designing. She has exhibited her art around Melbourne and always has a personal project up her sleeve. You may catch a glimpse of her scooting around town on her scooter or hastily sewing up an outfit to wear later that day. Lillian loves her vintage and is a very proud supporter of Dear Gladys.

Michelle Tran

Talented photographer Michelle has volunteered on a number of Dear Gladys photo shoots.

Michelle is a Melbourne-based photographer and Masters graduate from the Victorian College of the Arts. She currently lectures at Latrobe College of Art and Design and is represented by Lindberg Galleries. Michelle has also been a finalist in numerous national prizes including the Olive Cotton Award, the National Portrait Prize and the Bowness Photography Prize. Sarah Enticknap

Freelance photographer Sarah Enticknap volunteers her amazing eye and skill on many of Gladys’s photography projects.

Sarah is a freelance photographer based in Melbourne and works in the music industry both in Australia and the UK doing live band shoots, tour photography and album cover art. But we love her for her talents as a fashion photographer!

Mae West

Mae has volunteered her gorgeous smile for Dear Gladys’s ‘Three generations of Gladys’ photo shoot.

Only eight years old, pony enthusiast Mae has worked on many a photo shoot already, she often sits for photographer Jeremy Blincoe and recently had a part in Australian film ‘Summer Coda’ as young Heidi! A regular shopper at Gladys, Mae is one of the most stylish young ladies we know!

Love Hawkridge

Love has volunteered her talent as a hair and makeup artist for Dear Gladys’s ‘Three generations of Gladys’ photo shoot.

Love Hawkridge is an international makeup and hair artist who has recently come to Australia to continue her work in the industry. She has worked in South Africa, Ireland, the UK and Europe on fashion shows, editorials, commercials, album covers, music videos, short films, premiers, weddings and special occasions. Dyana Gray

Dyana volunteers her star quality for many Dear Gladys projects.

Dyana has worked for Dear Gladys since her very first year. When she’s not helping customers find the perfect thing at Gladys, she is busy being a talented artist and musician. Dyana often gives up her free time to play dress up with us for photo shoots and we love her for that! X

Sherlocks Daughter

Sherlock’s Daughter were super kind in letting us use their gorgeous track ‘Reprise’ in our Autumn/Winter digital lookbook 2011.

Originally formed in Sydney, the band Sherlock’s Daughter are now based in New York. It’s been a while coming, but the band are very excited and incredibly proud of the nine cuts that made the finished full length record. Produced by John Agnello who has also worked with Sonic youth, Patti Smith and The Kills to name a few!

Joëlle Boelen

Joëlle has volunteered her beauty and charm for Dear Gladys photo shoots and digital look books,

Joëlle is a 24 year old lady living in sunny Brunswick. She has graduated from Industrial Design and has cheeky plans to make erotic tools to pleasure.

Sarah-Jane Oska

Sarah-Jane has volunteered her stunning looks for photo shoots and also for our digital lookbook.

Sarah-Jane is in her final semester of studying a Bachelor of International Development. She is hoping to work within the environment/sustainabilty field of development – climate change, capacity building and environmental refugees. Sarah-Jane is particularly passionate about music, ethical and vintage clothing, the environment and cats – something she has in common with Gladys!

Lani Sommer

Lovely Lani volunteered for one of Gladys’s very first photo shoots!

Lani has been involved in all sorts of projects – from playing drums in her band The Icypoles through to work involving photography, illustration and textiles. She got a glimpse of things to come at her graduating exhibition from Melbourne Uni’s Creative Arts course when her entire ‘Together’ series sold out in the first hour.

Sue Thompson

Stunning Sue modeled for Dear Gladys in our ‘Three generations of Gladys’ photo shoot!

When Sue isn’t volunteering her time for photo shoots or shopping at Dear Gladys or practising ballet, she teaches Tai Chi. Plus Sue is a practising clairvoyant! Sue just loves vintage, in fact it’s all she wears! We just adore Sue.

Susan & Chippie

Susan Craddock and her gorgeous horse Chippie volunteered for us on our ‘Three generations of Gladys’ photo shoot.

When Chippie isn’t flirting with models, he and Susan volunteer at the Bundoora RDA (Riding Develops Ability) at Bundoora Park. Bundoora Park RDAV offers a dynamic therapeutic riding program, conducted by RDA coaches, an Occupational Therapist and Speech Pathologist. Catering for all ages, our program provides individual and group sessions for 32 clients targeting physical, sensory, behavioural and communication difficulties delivered through dressage, show jumping, cross country, western and cross training disciplines. Gemma Patford

Fashion and accessory designer Gemma Patford has supported Gladys on many occasions teaching our Sewing Circles!

Gemma owns fashion and accessory label, Not Today and confesses she is drawn to the ridiculous such as creating foodie lounge room accessories like hamburger scatter cushions! Not Today came about in 2008 when Gemma would make jewellery from whatever she could find – split pins, felt, chain, leather – and create little hot dogs and hamburger pendants for friends. Fashion designer, Remie takes time out of her very busy schedule to teach classes in Dear Gladys’s regular sewing circles!

Remie is graduating in a Bachelor of Fashion Design at RMIT. She recently showed her work at Melbourne Spring Fashion Week and also had her gorgeous collection shown on the catwalk in Seattle! Plus Remie is a sweetie.You can take a peek at Remie’s collection here.

Inari Red

Inari volunteered her skills as a professional makeup artist to help us on our digital lookbook Autumn/Winter 2011

With an eye for detail, our makeup artist Inari loves telling a story with her art. She combines hers skills of painting, drawing, face-painting, makeup, designing and love of fashion to create wonderful images of beauty, both sensual and distinctive. And she’s fun!

Helen Zdjelarevic has volunteered her skills as a Milliner to teach at Dear Gladys’s Sewing Circles

Helen is the talented lady behind All that Jazz, creating millinery and accessories ready made and made to order. She created All that Jazz to provide beautiful accessories that are unique and one of a kind. Her bags and hats are the kind an everyday person would love to wear!
